2024 Highlights

In a recent public service announcement, Bloomington Township highlighted the services provided in 2024. There was a significant increase in township assistance and food pantry usage compared to 2023, thanks in part to our extended Thursday hours and the introduction of special “Third Saturday” events. The Representative Payee Program continues to expand and now offers fiduciary services to VA beneficiaries as well.

Partnering with local non-profits remains a priority to maximize township resources and provide additional services such as legal assistance, childcare, and emergency shelter. Bloomington Township supported Beacon’s capital campaign and continues to be a founding partner of Heading Home of South Central Indiana. Both of these initiatives aim to reduce homelessness and help unhoused individuals secure permanent and stable housing.

Through careful management of public funds, the township aims to positively impact the quality of life for its residents by providing a strong safety net for our most vulnerable neighbors.
